I first listened to you on my own in November of last year(2018). My Dad has played you before but I wanted to experience the music you made myself. The album Victory Lap slowly became one of my favorite go-to albums for every occasion...especially when I was feeling a way about school. My favorite songs are “Double Up” and “Loaded Bases”, although all your tracks are heavy in the rotation. After listening to Victory Lap, I listened to all of your older albums. I instantly admired your vibe, your voice, and how real you were in every song.
Over this past weekend, we lost you. Your family lost you.Your fans lost you. The culture lost you. Throughout these past few days in between heavy sessions of listening to your music and being sad about your unfair and unjust passing, I looked you up. I read about your life. I read about all your accomplishments and everything you have done for the community. In my humble opinion, you were truly a remarkable man and a great influence for change for your community. Your acts were selfless. And that is shown in everything you have done for not only L.A but for the culture of the country.
I am so glad I got to experience your music when I did and will continue to do so. I wish I could have had a chance to tell you how inspiring you are to me. And how your music and your mentality really helped shape the courage I have to speak my mind about issues I am passionate about as well as making smart decisions in my career. As a writer, I will continue to speak about issues I believe in, like you did in your songs. I will use a voice full of power and will work for my community to empower people
, like you did. I will continue to stream all of your music, I will continue to remember you and everything you have done. I will continue to recognize you as the legend you are. And although your death was untimely, unfair, and something I wish never happened, the world will always remember you as the King you are, and always will be.
Thank you for leaving the legacy that everyone will remember and respect for millenniums to come. Thank you so much Mr. Hussle💙#rip to a loving father and husband, to a dedicated community influencer, to a hardworking artist, and to a remarkable man! We are going to finish what you started. We are praying for your family and their strength. We riding for you forever King. #ripnipsey #ripnipseyhussle #king #goat #legend #nipseyhussle
